Housemistress Fixed Term - Maternity Cover
Full time, Required from January 2024, Salary dependent on experience.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced and self-motivated Housemistress who can combine creativity with enthusiasm and experience to run a Year 11 Boarding House.
The successful candidate will provide a positive and challenging pastoral and boarding experience for pupils and by creating a secure, stable and nurturing, ‘home from home’ environment. She will oversee, co-ordinate and monitor the holistic development of each individual pupil in her care and be a role model whom girls can respect.
Boarding is at the heart of the MSJ ethos. This is a key position which offers an excellent opportunity to support Year 11 boarders with their academic and pastoral wellbeing as well as their personal development ensuring they are fully prepared for their next steps in life.
The successful candidate must be an excellent communicator: warm, approachable and with a proven ability to interact with others in a sensitive and caring manner. She must have strong leadership and organisational skills to support the boarding vision of the School.
The Housemistress will be expected to contribute to the wider life of the school and will be a highly qualified teacher who will teach a reduced timetable in a subject agreed by the Head or be able to make an alternate significant contribution to school life outside the Boarding House.
