MSJ Celebrates National Success at TeenTech Innovation Awards

We are delighted to share the outstanding news that students from our school have won two national categories at the prestigious TeenTech Innovation Awards 2025, held recently at the IET, London. Out of more than 1,500 entries and 74 teams who made it to the final, our students came first in both the Best Use of AI and Patient Safety categories – a truly remarkable achievement.

Since September 2024, the students have been working with determination, originality and purpose on innovative projects designed to tackle real-world problems. These projects enabled them not only to put their academic knowledge into action, but also to develop new ideas with real potential for impact.

In the Patient Safety category, Izzy (Year 10) designed an app that alerts carers when an EpiPen has been used, while also tracking the user’s location – an innovation that could be life-saving in emergencies. In the Best Use of AI category, Liza and Marilyn (Year 8) developed an AI tool capable of diagnosing different types of coughs – a creative and highly relevant solution in the field of digital healthcare.

Their success is a result of months of hard work, creativity, and problem-solving, supported by expert guidance from Dr Jones, who led the projects, alongside Mrs Rolfe (DT) and Mrs Faulkner (IT). At the finals, the students’ entries were judged by a panel of industry experts, further underscoring the relevance and application of their projects as both team had produced impressive working prototypes.

We are immensely proud of Izzy, Liza, and Marilyn and their projects stand as a excellent example of what pupils at MSJ can achieve.
