MSJ Seniors
In our Senior School, pupils are inspired to achieve their best, think independently and grow in confidence. A strong academic curriculum and rich co-curricular programme develop creativity, problem solving and future ready skills for life beyond school.
Year 7 (Ages 11-12)
Starting Senior School can be a big step for both pupils and their parents. We ensure a smooth transition so pupils are happy and make the most of the opportunities available to them.
Year 7 follow a wide curriculum including English, Mathematics, STEM subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Design and Technology, Food Science and Nutrition); Languages (French and Spanish), Humanities (Geography, History and Religious Studies); Expressive Arts (Art and Design, Music, Drama).
Year 8 (Ages 12-13)
As pupils progress to Year 8, the curriculum is further enhanced by additional languages. Latin is studied and extra-curricular languages are available in Chinese and Japanese.
Year 9 (ages 13-14)
In Year 9 pupils begin their GCSE preparation in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
There is a strong focus on careers education to support pupils in choosing their right GCSEs for them.
Years 10-11 (GCSEs)
A wide range of subjects are offered at GCSE/IGCSE.
The mandatory subjects taken are English Language, English Literature, Mathematics and Combined Science (which is worth two GCSEs).
