Meet Mrs Fowles

Senior Deputy Head

Fiona Fowles joined MSJ in 2018, having taught in all girls’ schools for most of her career. Inspired by her own teachers, she read Geography at the University of Durham and has a MSc in Soil Science from the University of Reading.

Educated in a girls school herself, she is a huge advocate for girls-only education as places where girls can unapologetically be themselves, supported and encouraged by the sisterhood!

She delights in seeing each girl realise her “girl-power” through hard work and being confident in who she is. Fiona is also a keen advocate of helping pupils connect with the natural world.

When not in school she enjoys hill walking, travel, watching rugby with her adult sons and going to the theatre.

School Life

Malvern St James Girls’ School is a leading independent day and boarding school for pupils aged 3-18. What makes us distinct and refreshing is our recognition and active support of each girls individual talents, interests and passions.

MSJ Pre-Prep spans the three years from Reception (age 4) to Year 2 (age 7). It sets the scene for a child’s educational journey in a warm, secure and creative learning environment.

MSJ Prep spans the four years from Year 3 (age 8) to Year 6 (age 11) and marks the transition from MSJ Pre-Prep to MSJ Seniors.

The focus of MSJ Seniors is to empower each girl to achieve results that exceed expectations and equip girls to think independently, discover their own interests and be intellectually curious. Our inspirational teachers actively challenge and stretch learners to push boundaries and take pride in their achievements.

MSJ Sixth Form marks a departure from Senior School. These two years, as girls transition towards university, career and life beyond school, are incredibly important. Staff will expertly guide them, whilst allowing them greater freedom and independence.
