We are delighted to share an exciting new chapter in the history of Malvern St James (MSJ).

As of Monday 3 February 2025, MSJ has officially joined Malvern Education Ltd, part of the newly formed Galaxy Global Education Group, marking a significant milestone in our 132-year history and ensuring a bright and stable future for our school and its students.

This transition brings fantastic opportunities for our students, with connections to a network of schools that will enhance their cultural and academic experiences, ensuring financial stability, and uphold the high standards and values that make MSJ special.

Founded in 2003 by an educationalist and philanthropist passionate about delivering world-class education, Galaxy Global Education Group educates 18,000 students and has seen over 100,000 graduates from its schools worldwide.

MSJ now joins Ruthin School and Durham High School as part of this esteemed educational family. Dr Gareth Lloyd, Head of MSJ, assures parents that the transition will maintain the strong traditions and independent spirit of the school, stating that MSJ’s autonomy and rich legacy will continue while embracing new opportunities.

He also highlighted the group’s commitment to supporting MSJ families by absorbing a significant portion of the 20% VAT on independent school fees, limiting fee increases to just 7.5% until July 2025.

MSJ is already an active member of prestigious global educational organisations such as the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools and Round Square, fostering global leadership and cross-cultural learning.

These partnerships, alongside our new affiliation with Galaxy Global Education Group, further enrich the educational journey of every MSJ student, ensuring a strong future rooted in tradition while embracing an exciting new era of global collaboration and innovation.
