Malvern St James Sports

Sports

Sport at Malvern St James is designed around participation, well-being and excellence. A team of teachers, professional coaches and personal trainers work together to provide a programme that inspires all.

We value excellence and we have the facilities, coaching structure and motivation for all aspiring sportswomen. Our sports scholars excel in a range of sports. They receive support for all aspects of physical and mental fitness, nutrition and mentoring.

We ensure our athletes receive personalised mentoring, physical and technical training, strength and conditioning sessions with our personal trainers and time throughout the week to prepare for competition.

We have a good relationship with local sports clubs and county organisations, which allows us to guide all girls in the right direction to suit their ability. We are delighted for our pupils who gain representative honours at club, county, regional and International level. We support their journey through developing their core skills in the curriculum, to working with their external coaches to ensure the pupil is receiving the guidance they need.

Our facilities at Malvern St James include a sports hall, with two netball courts, a climbing wall, a swimming pool, a multi-purpose activity studio, two squash courts and a fitness suite. We have outside Netball and Tennis courts, three full size lacrosse pitches, with cricket, rounders and athletics taking place on our fields. Equestrian lessons take place a short minibus drive away.

We are proud to compete in five women's games (hockey, lacrosse, netball, football and cricket) and to a high level throughout the prep and senior school.

Our new sand filled Astroturf pitch supports our busy hockey, tennis and football programmes.

Our competitive and busy fixture programme takes place midweek and on weekends and includes competition for all abilities, with fixtures for A, B, C & D squads, so your daughter will be able to experience competition from an early age. Furthermore, our recreational programme is rich and diverse and caters for all students. From dance, yoga, fencing, strength and conditioning sessions and more.

Sports training takes place early mornings, lunchtimes and in extra curricular time between 16:15 and 18:15 and is open to everyone. These sessions include indoor cricket, netball, badminton, hockey, football, lacrosse, riding, athletics, tennis, basketball, tennis, swimming and many more activities.
