Last year girls from Malvern St James Girls' School were not able to go on the biannual Gambia Expedition, however, this did not stop them from raising funds for the project.  

Funds were sent to the community project based on the edge of Illiassa to help them create a new garden. Just six months ago £500 was sent to buy saplings for the garden. A further £2,200 was sent a couple of months ago, at the end of the rainy season, to help build a borehole.

As you can see from the photos shared with us recently the garden is flourishing and we cannot wait to visit our friends in The Gambia very soon, once restrictions allow.
