Year 12 and Year 13 pupils were treated to an intensive weekend of portrait painting which offered a chance for our young artists to enhance their skills with a variety of activities.

Pupils had the chance to paint a live model with renowned local portrait artist, Mike Bagshaw, who assisted by sharing his own tips, techniques, and experience he has garnered within the world of art.

Saturday was dedicated to using charcoal and then oil paint to make quick studies of the model. On Sunday, pupils used the whole day for a more concentrated study on canvas in oils.

Mrs Weissberg, Head of Art, said, " Girls worked with great concentration and produced some excellent results in this very difficult genre."
