The MSJ Grassroots Showjumping and Dressage teams performed incredibly well at their retrospective Championships over the Easter break held at Kings Equestrian Centre in Bromyard.

The Grassroots Showjumping team, comprising of Matilda (Year 7), Evie (Year 8) and Sophia (Year 7), competed at the NSEA Regional Grassroots Showjumping Championship on Saturday 3 April.

In the Showjumping 50cm category, Matilda placed first with Sophia in fourth, Sophia also went on to take fifth in the 55cm competition. The team finished on the same score as another team, due to their incredibly quick times they were crowned winners of the Team 50cm Championship.

The Grassroots Dressage team, comprising Evie (Year 8), Phoebe (Year 3), Sophie (Year 5) and Matilda (Year 7), competed at the NSEA Regional Grassroots Dressage Championships on Monday 5 April.

Team members have worked incredibly hard on perfecting their Dressage skills during lockdown and attending the Grassroots training sessions. The team were up against tough competition from Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Shropshire and Worcestershire.

In the Intro Championship Evie took first place, Sophie third and Phoebe fifth. In the Prelim Championship Evie once again took first place with Matilda taking third.

Congratulations to everyone who took part and especially Evie, whose focus and accuracy paid dividend to win both Championships.
