- Sixth Form
Even in these unprecedented times, MSJ Sport has had a very busy half term.
On 19 September the U15 cricket team entered the Brockhampton Girls Cricket Festival, held in celebration of ‘Women's Cricket Week’. The team faced stiff competition, however, managed to win every match in their round, resulting in qualifying for the final.
MSJ beat Lady Hawkins, Kington by five wickets to be crowned champions. It was a fantastic result due to their commitment, communication and teamwork. A lot of fun was had by all. Congratulations goes to: Myrtle (Captain), Alice, Chloe, Martha, Emma, Kyla and Serena.
The Saturday Sports Training Programme has been a huge success with over 80 girls from Year 5 - 13 working hard to improve their fitness, Hockey, Cricket, Tennis and Lacrosse skills.
After half term Year 3 & 4 will be joining the programme and learning new skills and playing news sports for the first time.
We’re delighted to share with you several girls have been nominated for Cricket, Football and County Lacrosse trials plus there are girls training with the Welsh Lacrosse Squads at both U19 and U15 level. We wish them all the best over the next few months.
We have been very fortunate to be able to continue competing in Equestrian, albeit a reduced programme. Out teams have finished in the top three at various events and individuals have qualified for County and National Competitions. The Grassroots and Senior Equestrian Teams are all competing and training over the half term and we look forward to seeing their progress.
