In Spanish, with Mrs Carrillo, Year 8 and 9 learnt about the Day of the Dead “el día de los muertos”, a Mexican annual holiday. Day of the Dead festivities unfold over two days in an explosion of colour. The purpose of the day is to demonstrate love and respect for deceased family members.
This celebration is celebrated on 1 and 2 November. Students learnt about the celebration, decorated skulls as in Mexico and wrote in English and Spanish about this festival.
