As the summer term begins, we continue to be mindful of the effect Covid-19 is having on the MSJ community. We advise that you keep up to date with government advice particularly on social distancing, hand washing and isolation at gov.uk/coronavirus.

In accordance with Government advice, the MSJ site including boarding houses, sports grounds and other open space will be closed to all pupils, parents and visitors other than by prior arrangement until further notice. Until the Government advises that we can safely open again, we will continue with our remote educational provision throughout the School day. We are providing on-site supervision for children of Key Workers throughout the holiday and as part of our Public Benefit.

We are continuing to provide opportunities for our pupils to do more than just a full programme of academic lessons online and to remain part of the wider MSJ community. Registration at form time in the mornings provides tutors with an opportunity to meet tutees and for the form groups to remain united. A full programme of assemblies and form times is running from Monday to Friday, providing the chance for more formal connections and pastoral support, as well as that sense of community and being together. The Ships continue to meet regularly and we have a number of other exciting initiatives that will be communicated via our usual channels.

We have a comprehensive programme of support for our girls and their parents during this period. Pupils are receiving weekly news and snippets of information, as well as tips for online learning and improving wellbeing via our ‘MSJ United’ pages in the Pupil Shared Resources on Microsoft Teams, and our weekly pastoral tracker enables us to provide personalised pastoral support to each girl. The news section of this website and our social media feeds also keep you up to date with our current news and stories.

We have been delighted to see how well girls are adapting to this new way of learning and with the feedback and support from girls and their parents.

We hope you all remain well and safe.
