Key Stage 3 and volunteers from Key Stage 4 took part in the annual international online Bebras Computing Challenge that was held in November. Pupils competed in three age-based categories of Junior, Intermediate, and Senior.

This challenge allowed pupils to apply their computational thinking skills to solve a variety of logic problems against the clock.

Altogether, 91 participants took part in this challenge with an impressive 24 students receiving an award.

  • 5 Distinctions were awarded in the Juniors (Year 7)
  • 18 Distinctions were awarded in the Intermediates (Year 7 & 8)
  • 1 Distinction was awarded in the Seniors (Year 10 & 11)

Out of those Distinctions which were awarded, 11 Gold Certificates were awarded for those students whose scores were amazingly in the Top 10% nationally. These students have been invited to compete in the next online competition taking place in the Spring and is being organised by Oxford University.

Mr Shaw, Head of Computing, said, "Well done to all who took part and practiced so thoroughly."
