We are delighted to announce excellent A Level results for our Class of 2020. The majority of girls have got in to their first-choice university and course. Our girls holding Oxbridge offers have all gained places, studying English, Engineering and Veterinary Medicine. As ever, there is a diverse range of interests, with UCL, Bristol, Exeter and Durham being notably popular this year. At UCL, girls will be studying Psychology and Language Sciences, Maths, Statistics, Economics and Archaeology and Anthropology. At Bristol, Film and Television, Classics, Computer Science and Law. At Exeter, they will read Law, History and Drama and Philosophy and Politics. At Durham, Anthropology and Computer Science.

Other courses and destinations include: Industrial Design and Technology at Loughborough, Economics at Bath, Costume for Theatre and Screen at University of the Arts London, Foundation at Central St Martins, Marketing at Southampton, Physiotherapy at Keele, Classical Civilisation at Warwick and Nutrition at Oxford Brookes. One will go to Portsmouth to study Psychology with a naval scholarship. This is just a snapshot: we will profile more through the forthcoming days.

We are pleased that our results are very strong and up, at the same time recognising that it has been a difficult and confusing time for students up and down the country. We know that the girls have worked really hard for these results, and the exceptional circumstances should not detract from that. As well as showing their academic muscle, they have also demonstrated the soft skills that will stand them in good stead: resilience, determination and flexibility to name a few.

Whatever they go on to do, they will do it with confidence and style, and will not allow themselves to be defined as ‘the Covid generation’.

Students achieved 31% of grades at A*, 67% at A*-A, 87% at A*-B and 97% at A*-C.
