Getting to Malvern St James
Pupils travel to Malvern St James from a wide catchment area throughout Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Monmouthshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
School Minibus Service
We operate a number of School minibuses to transport pupils at a competitive price to and from School. The minibuses collect in the morning to arrive at school ahead of registration time and depart from School at 18:10 Monday to Thursday after homework or extracurricular activities are completed. On Fridays the buses depart at 16:10 and on Exeat Fridays they depart at 15:30.
Our experienced drivers are professionally qualified to a national standard and receive regular training. They are a key part of the pastoral team and work closely with the Senior Deputy Head to ensure continuity of pastoral care throughout the entire day.
A place on the school minibus is available on a termly basis. If you have more than one child using the service, we offer a sibling discount of 50% for the second child. We are happy to offer occasional places on the minibus to support families in the case of emergencies, subject to availability on the required route.
Please note that, for safeguarding reasons your child must be in Reception or older to use the minibus service.
Locations for the main stops on the routes are:
- Leominster: Bromyard – Bosbury – Leominster
- Evesham: Hanley Castle – Elmley Castle – Evesham
- Bromsgrove: Callow End – Worcester – Drotwich – Bromsgrove
- Cheltenham: Welland – Staunton – Gloucester – Cheltenham
- Hereford: Cradley – Bosbury – Ashperton – Hereford
Travelling by Rail
Malvern St James is located just across the road from Great Malvern Train Station.
West Midlands Trains operate a direct service to Birmingham which is only one hour away. This service stops at stations such as Worcester, Droitwich Spa, Bromsgrove and University. The line also serves Hereford in the opposite direction.
Great Western Railway operates a direct service to London Paddington via the Cotswold Line which stops at major stations including Oxford and Reading.
