Cdr Susie Moran
Commander Susie Moran joined the Royal Navy as a Logistician but transferred to the Warfare Branch after women were permitted to serve at sea. She has subsequently served in a wide variety of appointments including the personal staff of several senior officers and on several operational deployments including Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Croatia, Cyprus, Gibraltar, the Falkland Islands, the Middle East, and Iraq.
Latterly she has been employed in policy roles including in the Permanent Joint Headquarters at the height of operations in Afghanistan and during the Op TORAL period; on the staff of the Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (Policy) where she worked on the RN’s SDSR ‘offer’; as the Engagement lead in the Armed Forces Covenant team in the MOD; in NATO, and currently as the Royal Navy’s lead for parliamentary and ministerial engagement on the Naval Staff in London.
In a previous career, she was a Police Officer on the Home Office Accelerated Promotion Scheme where she specialised in Family & Child Protection and the investigation of domestic violence and non-stranger sexual offences, with a specific interest in the role of Adoption in Care proceedings, the work of Guardians ad Litem, and joint working with Local Authority Social, Child and other statutory services.
She is the current Chair of the SSAFA charity’s Adoption Service Management Committee. Susie is married to Julian, a Royal Marines officer, and has three children. Her son is a junior officer in the Royal Engineers, currently serving in Estonia on Op Cabrit, and her two daughters are considering joining the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force respectively.

Sue is an Old Girl (MGC 1971-78), and Sue’s mother Pamela Mullin was a member of MGC’s teaching staff (1956-91) and ultimately Head of Music.
1984-2023 Worked in investment management in London, Chicago, New York and Philadelphia, with responsibility for key endowment, foundation, corporate and public fund clients with multiple investment strategies. Retired from Managing Director position in 2023 and appointed as a governor of MSJ in 2024.

Ali is a Partner at Stocks Farm, Suckley, Worcestershire UK with her husband Richard and his father Mark. The Cappers specialise in growing hops, dessert and cider apples.Ali’s former 18 year career was in Advertising & Marketing.Ali is a Nuffield Farming Scholar (2013), former Board member (2012-2024) of and Chairman (2016-2022) of the the National Farming Union’s national Horticulture & Potatoes Board and was a Trustee of Nuffield Farming Scholarship Trust (2014-2019). Ali was also a long-standing Board member of British Hop Association and Wye Hops until 2024.Today, in addition to numerous roles at the farm, she works as a Trustee of the Oxford Farming Conference, is Executive Chairman of British Apples & Pears Ltd, Chairman of Horticulture Crop Protection Ltd, and a non-executive Director of NFU Mutual. Ali is a Deputy Lieutenant for Worcestershire, a Governor at Malvern St James and former Chair of the Malvern St James Friends Board of Trustees.
