Aims

  1. To provide, within a spiritual context, an all-round education for girls which will enable them to maximise their potential
  2. To instil a culture of achievement that sets no limits in order that girls pursue excellence, achieve success and acquire high self-esteem and confidence
  3. To provide an environment that motivates, challenges, encourages and supports the individual girl
  4. To encourage self-respect, respect for others, good manners, openness and honesty
  5. To prepare girls to play an active part in our increasingly global society
  6. To promote the benefits of all-girls' education
  7. To produce sufficient net surplus to be able to support the School's aspirations and goals in order to provide long-term financial security

Objectives

  1. To provide:

    a. high-quality teaching and learning that is responsive to the different ways in which girls learn

    b. a wide range of extra-curricular activities

    c. a system of academic support and pastoral care that will lead each girl to achieve her full potential

    d. well-qualified, passionate, ambitious teaching staff who will inspire girls with enthusiasm for their subject and who have a commitment to boarding education

    e. well-qualified, experienced house staff and medical staff who have a commitment to the well-being of the girls in their care

    f. planned professional development for teaching and non-teaching staff

    g. well-maintained buildings and grounds

    h. a planned programme of improvement of equipment and facilities

    i. a net surplus of 5-10% of turnover, in order to create and sustain an enduring foundation that will ensure the School's success and growth

  2. To develop:

    a. opportunities for independent learning and risk-taking so that each girl develops a spirit of enquiry and a love of learning

    b. a strong sense of community where emphasis on the individual is complemented by teamwork and a sense of collective responsibility

    c. good communications within school, between home and school and with the local community

    d. an over-subscribed school with an excellent reputation locally, nationally and internationally

    e. more global opportunities and awareness for students and staff
