Dr Rebecca Jones - Nominated for Librarian of the Year award

Dr Jones has been nominated for the Librarian of the Year award 2010. This prestigious award is presented annually by the School Library Association, UK, in recognition of outstanding and exemplary work by a school librarian. It aims to celebrate the achievements of the librarian with education, whilst promoting the importance of their role in developing a love of literature and independent learning skills.

Dr Jones said, ‘'I believe that learning how to find, evaluate and utilise information from a range of different sources are vital skills for all children in the 21st Century. My aim is to enable all pupils to access information, knowledge and literature for both academic excellence and also personal development''.

The award is open to school libraries within all sectors of education; primary, secondary, and special school staff. The winner of the award will be announced on October 4th.
