Payment of Fees, Insurances and Extras
It is the practice of all fee-paying schools to request payment in advance at the beginning of each term. If payment of accounts is not received by the School by the first day of term, interest is charged on a daily basis, together with other administrative costs, as stated in the notes on the fees bill. All extras are charged in arrears as these are incurred during the term and are not notified to the Finance and Operations Department until after the event. Bursaries
Our bursary programme is generous and is designed to make it possible for as many as possible of those who meet Malvern St James entry criteria to take up a place here. Bursaries are means tested and granted, on the recommendation of the Finance and Operations Department, at the discretion of the Headmistress.
Scholarships
New girls entering the School at Year 7, Year 9 or in the Sixth Form may apply for a Scholarship, these awards are also available to current girls. The School offers Academic Scholarships and Exhibitions together with Art, Drama (Year 9 and 12 only), Music, Riding (Year 9 and 12 only) and Sports Awards. All awards are granted on the basis of evidence of excellence and outstanding potential in a given area.
Level of Assistance and Application Process
A Scholarship is worth up to a maximum of 20% of fees and an Exhibition is worth up to a maximum of 10% of fees. In both cases, means-tested top up Bursaries can be awarded. Girls should apply using application forms available from the Registrar, during the Autumn Term preceding entry to the School. Awards are effective from the beginning of the Autumn Term following the Scholarship assessment process.
