Careers and Higher Education Fair

The Malvern St James Careers and Higher Education Fair, held on Friday 16 September, was designed to offer Girls in Years 9 -13 a taster of what is available to them in terms of Employment, Higher Education and Gap Year opportunities. We were fortunate that many organisations supported the Fair: local organisations such as Malvern Instruments, Crowe Clark Whitehall LLP, Thomas Vale Construction and Avenue Veterinary Centre hosted stands, alongside representatives from HSBC, the forces, and the Institutes of Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Chartered Accountancy.

The Universities of Bristol, Worcester and Bath as well as Bath Spa and the Royal Agricultural College attended the Fair. Frontier, Leiths School of Food & Wine, EIL, Orchards Cookery and The Year In Industry covered a wide range of activities available to the Girls keen to explore Gap Year options.

Working with Elisabeth Rambridge, the OGA Secretary, we were glad to welcome Old Girls back to the School. Clare Farquhar represented Whitefoot – Forward PR, Jo Charles is a Senior Lecturer in Equine Studies at the Royal Agricultural College, Dr Sophia Johnston is a qualified Dentist, and Charlotte Melhuish, a trainee Solicitor, represented Veale Wasbrough and Vizards. Isabel Bomford of Orchards Cookery was represented by her husband Nicholas Burt.

A big thank you goes to the Organisations who attended our Fair and of course to all the Staff and Students that supported the event; it was a most enjoyable and informative afternoon.
