PREPARATORY DEPARTMENT

MSJ parent, Monica Price and Birmingham film producer, Martin Nigel Davey, have created this new stage show in aid of four major UK cancer charities: The Eve Appeal, Macmillan Cancer Support, The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and Teenage Cancer Trust. The show will tell the uplifting, moving and positive stories of cancer survival of seven different characters, interspersed with some fantastic music from the sensational West End Gospel Choir.

Dame Judi Dench has agreed to be Patron of the musical and it will be directed by celebrated West End Director Carole Todd. The performance will star many well-known actors from film and television including Les Dennis, Linda Robson (Birds of a Feather), Sarah Manners (The Bill, Casualty) and Hannah Waterman (New Tricks, Eastenders).  Whilst shooting his new film, Tim Burton's 'DarkShadows' at Pinewood studios, Hollywood star Johnny Depp heard about the stage production and kindly lent his support to it by signing an original painting of himself by artist Sue Verity. The art work will be auctioned during October in aid of the show, along with prints also signed by Mr Depp.

The Gala performance will take place on Friday 30^th September at the New Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham. MSJ musicians will be given the opportunity to entertain the audience before the show.  A special promotional code has been created which offers friends and family two tickets for the price of one!
