Royal Wedding Celebrations

There was an air of excited anticipation on the morning of Friday 29th April, as final preparations were made for an MSJ-style celebration of the Royal Wedding. In the Juniors, pupils rotated around a circus of Wedding Activities; making a card for the Royal couple (which were sent to Clarence House), inventing fruit cocktails to toast the Bride and Groom, creating tissue paper corsages and writing postcards from Prince William and Kate - anticipating where they might be on their honeymoon! All the Juniors wore hats, many home made, which were later paraded in front of the School with prizes for 5 of the best creations.

Throughout the School girls watched the wedding on big screens in rapt silence, only broken by cheers and whoops when Kate appeared and when the couple were pronounced 'Man and Wife'.

Celebrations resumed after 4.00pm with a Street Party organised by the ‘Friends of MSJ' for the whole School. Girls and staff enjoyed a barbecued feast, wedding cake and played giant board games in the Quad.
