Ski Trip 2011

Ski Trip 2011

Last December, 13 girls from Year 8 to Year 12 set off to the USA in search of snow and fun. Their destination was Bretton Woods, a ski resort in the shadow of Mount Washington in New Hampshire. They had a wonderful time, as described in their review below:

‘The ski trip was amazing. This year we went to New Hampshire in America and skied at a place called Bretton Woods. We stayed at a massive hotel which had an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool. There was even an outdoor hot tub with a log fire burning at the side of the pool! The hotel was right next to some factory outlet shops so we could go shopping every evening and buy loads of Christmas presents to take home.

Every evening, when we got back from skiing, hot chocolate and cookies were served in the hotel foyer and we could have as much as we liked. Dinners were ok most of the time, but some nights we walked to the supermarket and tried some American food. However, the breakfasts were just amazing – there was so much choice and we could even make our own waffles!

We skied every day and some people snowboarded. We had really cool instructors who let us do jumps. Everyone loved the skiing and snowboarding and we all got much faster and better each day, even though we still fell over quite often. It was so much fun!

One evening we went tubing and had races down the slopes on our tubes. That was really good fun as well, but also very cold.

Hopefully, next year, the ski trip will take place in Utah – we can’t wait!’
