Inaugural Lecture of the Geography Society - a report by Rosie Baker

The newly founded Geog Soc, run by U6th geographers with the support of Mrs Hutton and Miss Owen, held their inaugural lecture this term. Faye Cox, who has worked for the Royal Geographical Society and is currently the Operations Director for Wind, Sand and Stars, visited MSJ in the evening to speak to girls and staff about her experiences leading expeditions to the Sinai Desert.

Faye's talk proved very insightful and girls learnt about the history of the Sinai area and the indigenous people and their lifestyle.

Geog Soc holds weekly meeting for any girls interested in learning more about the world around them. With over 20 very active members from Year 7 upwards, this is a society that is set to flourish over the year, lead ably by girls in the U6th.

We're looking forward to the next event already!
