Exciting Activity Days - a report by Years 3 and 4

We left MSJ full of excitement to start our activity days at Aztec Watersports, near Evesham. As we approached the anticipation started to build! When we arrived we were split into 2 groups: one to do climbing, the other archery. This was fantastic fun, although a few arrows did miss their targets to begin with! The climbing was hard work, but very good exercise. After lunch we moved to the water and were able to try kayaking, peddalos and dragon boats. This was so much fun. Our instructors didn't even mind if we went in the water (as it wasn't very deep).

The excitement wasn't over when we returned to School, as we were camping in the garden at Batsford with a barbeque planned for our supper! It was great that quite a few of the tents had already been put up by the time we got back to save us getting in a tangle with all the poles! We had a great barbeque cooked by Mrs Sherwood. At the end of the barbeque, some of the older girls staying in Batsford came out to play, which was great fun. After a few songs and mugs of hot chocolate we went to bed.

Although it was a bit chilly overnight, we were well wrapped up in our sleeping bags, as were Mrs Sherwood, Mrs Jones, Mrs Wilkinson and Mr Gurney. After packing up our tents and bags, we took them down to school and had breakfast, to prepare ourselves for our second day's activity. We headed off the Earnslaw Quarry to start our walk on the Malvern Hills. We had a quiz to do on the way, which made sure that everyone kept their eyes open on the walk! After seeing the amazing views and looking at the plants and animal holes pointed out in the quiz, we arrived at the Worcestershire Beacon, before heading down to St Anne's Well, where we had lunch. After refuelling, a rest and an ice cream we counted the steps down to Rose Bank Gardens and headed on to our final destination, the playground in Priory park. Amazingly people still had enough energy to go on all the rides, before we arrived back at school to meet our parents and go home to sleep!
