Batsford Sleepover - a report by Years 5 and 6

Batsford Sleepover - a report by Years 5 and 6

It was a much anticipated event, and some enormous bags and suitcases greeted the Junior Department on Friday morning! Almost everyone in Year 5/6 turned up at Batsford at six o'clock, after a wonderful dinner (thank you to all the kitchen staff if you are reading this!). We all unpacked our bags in the main room and changed into our pyjamas. It was rather squished, but at least we would all be warm in the night!

Once everyone had unpacked and was in their pyjamas, we started a beauty‐evening of face‐packs, nail painting and manicures. It was great fun and Mr Charles, ably assisted by Mrs Jones, did some amazing patterns on our fingers, including stars and two union jacks on Phoebe Nairn's thumbs!

Mrs Sherwood was in charge of helping us all make our own individually designed facepacks, after which we were able to enter the ‘Zeen' Room and lie back and relax with slices of cucumber. After this, we all started to settle down and get into our sleeping bags. Two great films were then played on the projector (Kung Fu Panda and Shrek:Forever After), and finally, at around midnight, everyone was asleep.

In the morning we were all very tired, but happy. Another film was played (Aquamarine) until everyone was fully awake! Then we went down to breakfast (bacon and scrambled eggs) and, yet again, thank you to the kitchen staff!

Finally, we went back up to Batsford, packed our things away and played games until our parents came to collect us.

Thank you to all the teachers who organised this brilliant event and to the kitchen staff for providing our wonderful meals!
