The MSJ Sports Tour to Canada in July was a great success. Our squads should all be proud of themselves for completing a gruelling schedule of 9 matches in 12 days in temperatures of 22-28 degrees C! Neither women’s lacrosse nor netball is played in schools in British Columbia and matches were against club sides of varied experience. MSJ comfortably won all lacrosse games, the girls defeated the only netball club on Vancouver Island and drew in the return game against Burnaby Mountain. The team fought valiantly in hockey against the provincial and club sides who were of an excellent standard.
During the tour, the girls explored Stanley Park, Vancouver, Victoria, Vancouver Island and Whistler. Recreational time included white water rafting, whale watching, days on the beach, shopping and visiting the sights of beautiful British Columbia.
The girls should be congratulated not only on their sporting achievements but on their behaviour throughout the tour – they were helpful, polite and a real credit to the School. Well done girls!
