TOP MARKS FOR GIRLS!

Following on from last weeks ‘A’ Level and AS success, MSJ is delighted to announce its GCSE results.

Headmistress, Mrs Rosalind Hayes said, ‘We are very proud of the effort and hard work of our girls and staff, they deserve these excellent results. ‘

100% pass rate, 94.3% of all grades awarded are A* - C, with an excellent 55% of all grades being A* or A.

In a year when yet again we expect to see examination success dominated by GSA Schools(Girls School Association), we are thrilled that girls continue to realise their full potential at Malvern St James.

Our particular congratulations go to Lucy Darling and Alexandra Miller who were amongst the top ten students who achieved the highest overall marks in Business and Economics.

Official figures released by the Department for Children, Health and Families demonstrate clearly that students at all-girl schools out perform their mixed school counterparts at ‘A’Level. MSJ is particularly pleased to see the girls performing well in all subjects at GCSE and continuing this trend.

Mrs Hayes commented, ‘It is important to us as an all-girls’ school that each pupil realises that she can achieve in any subject, regardless of whether it has been traditionally a male dominated area. A supportive community in which a natural confidence in one’s ability is nurtured is key to success and leads on to great things as the girls progress through their education and career’.
