JAZZ & GOSPEL CONCERT

Founder members of ‘The SHOUT’, an 18-piece British vocal big band, Richard Chew and Cheryl Pickering organised a vocal and choral workshop for the girls of Malvern St James on 20th September. Richard is renowned for his work with young people as a composer, pianist and singer. Cheryl is a singer and talented teacher. They now live in Australia and work internationally.

Richard and Cheryl perform an amazingly wide range of musical styles and invited girls to bring whatever type of music they liked to the workshop. It proved to be an enriching experience and great fun.

In the evening Richard, Cheryl and the girls presented a concert which was much appreciated by the audience and described as ‘a lively, upbeat and enjoyable event.’
