Canada Ski Trip 2015 – a report by Nicky Connell, Emily Marriott and Ginny Wood, Year 10
On the 12th of December 2015, we all had an early morning start for our departure to Canada. Despite the tiredness of the group, we were all buzzing with excitement thinking of the trip ahead. After everyone had arrived at the airport it was time to get on our first flight to Paris, then catch the connecting flight to Montreal. After a 6 hour flight and a long day of travelling we finally touched down on Canadian ground.
The next day was spent exploring the sights and underground shopping centre in the heart of Montreal. Following this, and with a bus full of bags, we set off on our journey to Mont Tremblant. There was plenty of adrenaline rushing through us as we anticipated what the rooms in the hotel would be like. Our expectations were overwhelmed as we saw our beautiful rooms. With en-suite bathrooms, two double beds, a mini kitchen and fridge, I think it is safe to say that we were thoroughly satisfied!
The first day of skiing went smoothly as we split off into three groups and met our new instructors. We were surrounded by breath-taking scenery. At lunch we went to the cafeteria for lunch. The food there was really nice and had a full range of food, from a hot to cold food option, and the prices were very reasonable. After our first day of skiing we were still all eager to get back on the slopes and get as much practice as possible.
The week flew buy with skiing, exploring the village, bowling and a games night and before we knew it our skiing trip was over and it was time to start our journey back home. We all couldn't believe how much our skiing had improved and are really keen to go again in the future.
