Exceptional University Destinations and Top GCSE Grades for Malvern St James Girls
Malvern St James Girls’ School is celebrating an excellent year of public examination results and outstanding personal achievements.
September sees six girls taking up places at universities ranked in the top five in the world (as rated by the QS World University Rankings); with a total of 17 going on to Top 10 UK-ranked institutions. Three more are reading Medicine and two going on to prestigious Art Colleges. Overall 85% of girls have got into their first choice university or course. The list of courses is as diverse as it is long, with over 45% of the cohort getting into their first choice to read STEM related subjects.
This year also saw exceptional GCSE performances. A record 35% of A* grades have been awarded with the number of A*- A grades increasing to 60%. This year has also seen a rise in the number of girls achieving 5 or more A*- C grades to 99% (including IGCSE) and 77% gained 5 or more A* - C grades including Maths, English Language, Science and a Modern Foreign Language. 11 girls have achieved A*- A in all of their subjects with 3 girls gaining A* in all subjects, one of whom attained A* in 12 different subjects. 7 girls have achieved A*- A in 9 or more subjects and 1 girl was awarded A*- A in 4 different Modern Foreign Languages.
