Having Fun with Medieval History
Year 7 were set the challenging task of designing a game that could be played in only 20 minutes and that would teach people about life in medieval England.
Ani King explained, ‘I think that everyone in the Year group has thoroughly enjoyed this project and it has been fun, but also educational. We have all learnt a lot of things about medieval life that we didn’t know before. Team co-operation is an important skill to have later in life, and we have really needed to work well as a team to achieve the finished products and divide work between ourselves equally.’
‘It was a really good way of learning about life in the Middle Ages”, agreed Mia Greenland. ‘Grace Dunn said that she enjoyed making questions for our game, as she learnt loads from it. It has been really nice seeing other girls’ work and playing their games. We have taught each other a number of things with cooperative learning.’
