MSJ Chess Queen
Ani King, Year 7, recently competed in the Worcestershire Junior Chess Academy stage of the Delancey UK Chess Challenge.
Ani was placed in shared third place, alongside Jacob Payne-Lunn of Bishop Perowne Performing Arts College and Adair Cole of Bromyard, with a score of 17 points.
This is a remarkable achievement for Ani as she was not only the youngest contestant to be awarded, playing against boys up to 5 years older than herself, but also the only female.
We wish Ani success in the next stage of the competition – the Worcestershire Megafinal to be held at the University of Worcester on 17 May.
