Arts Award Qualification Success
Congratulations to all the girls in Year 8 and 9 who entered for the Bronze Arts Award Qualification. We have received the excellent news from Trinity College that everyone has reached the standard required to achieve the award, alongside an older girl who achieved a Silver Award.
The work towards the Bronze Award was mainly focused on Expressive Arts Week held last summer, which was an exciting week in which girls exploring a wide range of new Arts experiences. The criteria required the girls to ‘Take Part’, ‘Be an Audience’, learn about a person who has been their ‘Arts Inspiration’ and to ‘Share Arts Skills’.
The moderator from Trinity, Felix Pepler, Head of Ingestre Hall Arts College, came into school this term and explained: “Arts Award plays such an important and integral role within the learning at Malvern St James. The way it is structured, supported and delivered ensures consistently high outcomes for students’ creative development and expression – as further evidenced by work in portfolios and through discussions with the students.”
The girls had an exciting week taking part in Rock’n’Pop, Photography, Bollywood Dancing, Samba Drumming, Contemporary Dance, Acting with Masks, Stage Fighting and Art, along with a trip to the beautiful eighteenth century Mansion and Art Gallery at Compton Verney.
What a great way to take an exam! Well done to everyone who contributed so much.
