Lights of Love
On Tuesday 6 November, the MSJ Senior Vocal Ensemble were thrilled to be invited to sing for the Malvern Lights of Love service - a lovely, thoughtful and poignant occasion.
This service, which is held to bring together the thoughts of all those close to our hearts whom we have lost, was extremely moving and it was a pleasure to be part of such a touching event. We were lucky to have the chance to sing some of our most evocative songs such as 'Steal Away' which was performed unaccompanied and 'A Tender Shoot''. A single candle was lit for each and every person during the hymn 'Danced In The Morning' to remember both the loved ones we had lost and those currently suffering with illness. After the candles were extinguished the Senior Vocal Ensemble sang 'The Father's Blessing' which undoubtedly brought tears to everyone’s eyes, such was the emotional atmosphere inside the Priory.
Within the choir it is one of our favourite services due to its serene and peaceful tone throughout and we were all touched to be asked to return and sing again next year.
