News from our Equestrian Teams
On Sunday 29 May an MSJ team travelled to Kings Equestrian in Bromyard to compete in the NSEA Team Dressage Competition with the aim of qualifying for the Addington National Championships in October 2016.
Teams were there from Haberdashers’ Monmouth, Malvern College, Lucton, The Elms, Thomas Adams, and Hereford Cathedral, to name but a few. Representing MSJ were Eve Hobbs on Indie who rode in the Novice and Elementary classes, Jess Morris on Crystal who rode in the Prelim and Novice classes, Genevieve Manning on Harry and Teagan Manning on Badger who both rode in the Prelim class. Lottie Trevethan riding Dylan competed as an individual in the Prelim class.
All the girls rode extremely good tests. Only the first and second placed teams were able to qualify and by achieving an impressive second place the girls have secured their place at the National Championships. The same team qualified for these Championships last year and were placed 7th so they are all looking forward to representing MSJ once again and trying to better their result.
On 11 and 12 June our team of show jumpers had a great weekend at the NSEA Show Jumping Qualifiers at the same venue. Jess Morris, Vivi Manning, Tiggy Manning, Ibble Watson, Ginny Wood, Izzy Lee, Lucy Blum, Harriet Whitehouse and Millie Pope represented MSJ with style and qualified for the NSEA Championship Plate in December by achieving third position in the 80cm, 90cm and 100cm classes.
