OLD GIRLS

Welcome from Chairman

Welcome to our section within the website!

My name is Hannah Plant. After leaving school I trained as a teacher and I live in Tenbury Wells in Worcestershire only about 40 minutes from Malvern St James.

I went to St. James's and the Abbey in 1990 when I was 11 and was delighted to be made Head Girl in my final year (1996 – 1997). Ten years later I enjoyed organising a Reunion in Malvern for my year group and this made me want to become more involved in the Old Girls' Association.

In 2008 I joined the OGA Committee and at the Summer Reunion in May 2009 I was elected Chairman of the Committee. This is a tremendous honour and the four years of my term of office are going to be very exciting. I visit the School once a month to catch up with the Headmistress and the OGA Secretary, Elisabeth Rambridge.

My aims are to increase membership numbers and to encourage recent leavers from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s to return to Malvern and become more involved in the OGA. I'm keen to bring Old Girls from all the schools together. I would like to thank the many Old Girls who support the OGA so faithfully.

I would value any suggestions and advice to encourage Old Girls to get in touch and any ways you feel the appeal of the OGA can be broadened. Please contact me via oga@malvernstjames.co.uk

It was great that Old Girls were involved in the Careers Fair in February at MSJ and recent leavers also returned for a Lacrosse match on the last weekend in the Spring Term 2010. Please do have a look at the News section for more details about these events and many other stories. Do send in your own news also and complete a Contact Form.

I look forward to seeing you at the Summer Reunion and AGM on Saturday 22nd May at Malvern St James and at future gatherings.
