The Class of 2010 are warmly welcomed to the Old Girls' Association

Old Girls and Honorary Members joined in the celebrations at the end of the academic year, with the Commemoration Service taking place in Malvern Priory and Prizegiving and Speech Day in the MSJ Sports Centre. Anne Borrowdale, Chairman of the Malvern St James Council, Hannah Plant, Chairman of the OGA, Penny Smith, Vice-Chairman and Committee members, Di Cooley, Rowena Westacott and Fiona Sedgley all attended the day-long festivities. Fiona, last year's Head Girl is pictured here with Alice Porter, the outgoing MSJ Head Girl. Libby Anson, a member of the MSJ Council and close relative of the Baird family who founded St James's School, was also present. Alice Wright, the Head Girl who left in 2007, and Mary Goddard were among the other Old Girls there. Honorary Members, Hilary Churchill, Anita Lloyd, Joy Patten, Carol Pike, Judith Davis, Teresa Hughes and OGA Patron Elizabeth Mullenger, also a member of the MSJ Council, all enjoyed the day. Honorary Member, Sue Adeney, also a member of the MSJ Council, was with her daughter Charlie as she celebrated her last day at school. It was also Mike Tebbett's last day at school as he retired after a distinguished teaching career, during which he was Deputy Head of St James's. Suki Pallett, who retired last year, returned to a warm welcome from her girls.

Anne Borrowdale in her address paid a very warm tribute to the work of Mrs Ros Hayes, the first Headmistress of Malvern St James. Mrs Hayes gave a full and enthusiastic account of the past year at Malvern St James, during which she referred especially to the work of the OGA Secretary and to the many golfing successes of current pupil Lucy Walton, who is the daughter of an Old Girl. The prizes were given away by Jo Salter, Britain's First Female Fast Jet Pilot, flying the Tornado GR1, who gave a racy and lively account of her career. Alice Porter gave the Vote of Thanks and spoke with the same sense of occasion she displayed when she addressed the OGA Reunion at Worcester College, Oxford last autumn.
