SENIOR SCHOOL
Duke of Edinburgh's Award
Gold, Silver and Bronze participants of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme took part in several weekend practice expeditions this term. The Gold and Silver expeditions entailed two nights of camping and two days of walking around the Black Mountains in South Wales. The extremely variable weather conditions, from sunshine to strong winds and heavy rain, added great value to the training. In contrast, Year 9 girls experienced heat-wave conditions when they undertook their Bronze practice expedition in the Eastnor area.
Miss Cole, Head of Outdoor Pursuits, said, ‘Everyone did really well coping with the weather extremes and it certainly bodes well for the real thing. We wish everyone the best of luck for their Qualifying ventures this summer!'.
