ARLT Latin Reading Competition

ARLT Latin Reading Competition

Congratulations to Sarah Carrington, who came third in the junior section of the national ARLT Latin Reading Competition.

Sarah Carrington and Robyn Annetts (Year 10) and Alison Robb and Jackie Koh (Year 13), recorded a passage from Virgil's Aeneid to be judged against other students from across the country.

Classics teacher, Mrs Baird explains, ‘Latin poetry is meant to be read aloud and it is useful to give students the opportunity to think about the sounds of the poetry that they study. This is a great achievement for Sarah, as the judges pride themselves on their knowledge of Latin pronunciation.'
