MSJ girls did incredibly well in the Malvern Young Writer Competition this year, winning a total of nine prizes. Alice Porter, Year 13,  won first prize in one of the categories for her imagined extra scene for the play ‘The History Boys. Another first prize was awarded to Octavia Manning-Cox, Year 9,  for her witty and ingenious poem ‘Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall'.

The Awards Evening at Hanley Castle High School last week, was attended by Alice and Octavia, plus Seyi Otegbeye, Ife Otegbeye, Rebecca Dinn and Harmony Chan. Head of English, Mr Morris, said, ‘The opportunity to read some excellent extracts from their work to a live audience made this Awards Evening a truly inspiring event for the girls. We are very proud of their achievements.'
