MSJ looks forward to opening its new Junior Boarding House

Work on Batsford House, the new junior boarding house, is making excellent progress. Set in a large, secluded garden, Batsford House will provide the ideal environment for our junior boarders, under the experienced care of Housemistress, Mrs Heather Cardy.

The extensive refurbishment has created five large, bright dormitories all with views of the garden.

The girls will enjoy a spacious Common Room, as well as a Quiet Room and IT Suite. Downstairs includes a pantry kitchen and there are modern bathrooms and washrooms throughout the House.

Mr Steve Ewence, Facilities Manager, said, ‘We are extremely pleased with the progress of Batsford. The House will be an excellent addition to the School and we are looking forward to its completion before the end of the Summer Term'.

Mrs Cardy, who is thrilled with the new House added, ‘I am very excited about the opening of Batsford. The girls' bedrooms are beautiful, with lots of high ceilings and storage space; it will be a lovely cosy home for all of us. The girls really enjoy their activities and will get a great deal out of the Common Room. The pantry is essential to provide that all important cup of cocoa before bedtime! I have no doubt that Batsford will be a fabulous House and I am really looking forward to welcoming the girls there in September'.
