The Annual Conference of AROPS (Association of Representatives of Old Pupils’ Societies) at Dean Close School

Hannah Plant and Elisabeth Rambridge received a very warm welcome from Old Decanian QD Seymour Smith when they represented Malvern St James Old Girls' Association on Saturday. The key note speaker was Stuart Westley, General Secretary of Association of Governing Bodies of Independent Schools, who spoke about the role of Governors in Schools, ‘Governance in Schools Today'; followed by Dr David Heathcote who talked about ‘Successful Friend-raising'. After an excellent lunch Hannah went to a session about ‘Engaging with Younger Members' and Elisabeth to one on ‘Communications'. The Conference was excellently organised with very generous hospitality from Dean Close and a brilliant opportunity to exchange ideas with other associations.
