MSJ has had several successes at the District Cross-Country Championships. It was held at Malvern College and 6 schools were taking part.

Penny Green won 1st place in the Year 7 Girls race.

Tabitha Monkhouse did equally well and came 1st in the Junior Girls race.

Robyn Maxtone did very well in the Senior Girls competition, finishing in second place.

Tabitha and Robyn have now been selected to represent the Malvern District at the County Championships this Saturday at Somers Park, Bromsgrove. Well done to Penny, Tabitha and Robyn.

MSJ also achieved great success in Netball last week.

Year 8, 10 and 11 all faced Bishops Hereford, a very strong Netball playing school, last Wednesday.

The Year 8 A team totally dominated their game and won with a fantastic score of 16-4. Player of the match goes to Natalie White.

The Year 8 B team did equally well. At half time the score was 3-2 to MSJ but, having listened carefully to advice from Miss Mackowski, they extended their lead and won the game 11-2. Well done for your determination. Player of the match goes to Holly Pickerell.

The Year 10 team dictated the game so much and played so well that they actually had to all change positions to try and make the game more even. For example, Pandy Fowles, who usually plays a shooter, was Centre and Anna Baird, normally a defender, turned into a shooter. However, despite this the team still won 14-4! Player of the match is awarded to Francesca White.

The Year 11 team got stronger and stronger as the game progressed. Mrs Bevan commented on how intelligently they played. The player of this match is awarded to Jessica Wright.

Well done to all the teams - what brilliant results!
