OLD GIRLS

Deirdre was awarded the OBE for Services to the Textile Industry. Deirdre replied to the message of Congratulations from the Old Girls' Association saying that ‘The catalyst for my recognition was a Tartan Register project. Previously in private hands tartan registration is now in the public domain and the Scottish Register of Tartans safely held within the National Archives of Scotland. It took 7 years and is due to so very many people besides myself.'
