Poulton is home to the Sixth Form boarders. We are located on the top two floors of the main school building so have fantastic views across Malvern and most importantly do not get wet walking to school if it rains.
In house girls are encouraged to be independent which prepares them for university life. We have four kitchens where girls are allowed to cook some meals. They are also expected to wash their own laundry and keep the House tidy.
Poulton has a wonderful community atmosphere and with staff operating with an open door policy, girls can rest assured there is always someone to talk to and support them. Poulton provides a relaxing home-from-home environment so that girls are able to enjoy their last years at Malvern St James with a listening ear and clear guidance.
There is a big emphasis on study in the house as girls work towards their A level exams at the end of the year. We have a computer suite within the boarding house as well as girls having full access to the Sixth Form centre and library which most evening’s houses large work parties of girls helping each other in their studies.
However we also ensure there is a good work/life balance with plenty of fun to be had as well. We have weekly outings that any girl can choose to participate in, or they may choose to go to Worcester or Birmingham with friends. In the evenings we hold on-demand craft evenings, cooking sessions and games nights with team games that are open to all, enthusiasm for all of these is the only criteria. In addition to this girls can use the gym or go
up town for a meal.
