Wellbeing

At Malvern St James we embrace a whole school ethos in which we promote a sense of collective responsibility within the framework of a happy caring and supportive community.

Our core purpose is to inspire confident learners who will thrive in a changing world and pursue exciting things to nourish their lives.

Our approach is focused on identifying and developing strengths, developing goals, trying out new, fun and enjoyable things, sharing stories, understanding our mind and bodies and our relationships.

MSJ’s platform for wellbeing is designed to:

  • build self-esteem
  • encourage resilience
  • promote positive relationships
  • create a positive ethos
  • encourage helping others
  • foster gratefulness.

We promote healthy eating throughout the school and opportunities for activity and sport abound.

Pupils are able to talk to whomever they feel most comfortable with, be they a teacher, the Form Tutor, the School nurse, a Sixth Form Mentor or another member of the Pastoral Team.

Through PSHEEC and indeed through expressive subjects in the curriculum, we give girls opportunities to express and share their thoughts. Assemblies and discussions in class allow ethical and spiritual ideas to be explored

Wellbeing is not just about being happy; it is about being nurtured with care and educated with confidence.
