Pre-Prep at MSJ is the three years from Reception to Year 2 and sets the scene for a child’s educational journey.
“At this early stage of a girl’s development, education is not just about the children - parents are fundamental in supporting a smooth transition to school and good communication between School and home is vital. Small classes enable our Early Years teachers to create a tailored curriculum made up of educational experiences, purposeful play and interactive challenges - together; these produce an exciting and inspiring syllabus, where key skills in Literacy and Numeracy are nurtured alongside the development of a passion for enquiry.”
Zinnia Wilkinson, Pre-Prep Co-ordinator
In Pre-Prep we provide a warm, welcoming and secure learning environment for all of our girls. We recognise that children joining our School have already learned a great deal, and the Early Years Education is based on these principles:
In the girls' first years at School we encourage caring and warm relationships, awareness and appreciation of different cultures and a sense of curiosity and desire to learn. Girls become confident, independent learners who value self-discipline. Children work both individually and in collaborative groups, developing skills which provide an invaluable base for future learning.
