As her parent, you already know that your daughter is a unique individual; not an academic statistic, but a person bursting with potential and deserving of the best possible opportunities. We know this too and put our students' academic and personal needs before anything else.
“Children are born with a passion for enquiry and a desire to achieve. They need to feel safe and secure in their surroundings and have fun in their lessons. We continuously aspire to engage and expand these appetites within a welcoming, purposeful and creative environment, giving girls the confidence to push their own preconceptions and boundaries in a purposeful manner.”Marina Stentiford, Head of Preparatory Department
Our lively Prep Department is located within the School’s main building and provides an innovative, nurturing educational environment for young girls. These students add a very special energy to Malvern St James by bringing additional fun and an ‘everything is possible’ approach.
The first steps at MSJ provide the right support for children to grow and mature. Small classes enable girls to learn in a relaxed, happy atmosphere within an inclusive and secure environment. Many girls take full advantage of our After School Club. Our Prep Department girls benefit from the Senior School facilities and specialist subject teaching. It also allows these young girls to mix, work and play amongst our older students who provide a sister-like network and act as exceptional role models. The transition to ‘Big School’, moving from Year 6 up to Year 7, is seamless for our Prep Department girls.
Each girl in our Preparatory Department is challenged and supported to develop a passion for learning, together with a confidence to push her own boundaries. Our promise and guarantee is that your daughter will achieve her very best in every area.
By the time our girls move up to Senior School, they are ready and eager to face the challenges ahead of them; secure in the knowledge they have a solid foundation on which to build and confident of the very best support system to help them move forward.
